Tamarind Chutney, Imli Ki Chatani
(Note : tsp stands for table spoon)
Ingredients
- Tamarind\Imli-50 gms,
- Sugar-25 gms,
- Jaggery-50 gms,
- Oil-1 tsp,
- Fry Cumin Powder-1tsp,
- Red Chilli Powder-1 tsp,
- Black salt-1/2 tsp,
- Salt-1/2 tsp,
- Asafetida\Heeng-1/3 tsp
Method
- Take tamarind in a pan and add half of glass hot water
- Let it soak for 15 mins after that boil on high flame
- Once it starts boiling, turn the flame low
- Now cook for 5 mins on medium flame then turn off the flame
- Leave it for 10 mins to cool down
- Put it mixer jar, grind it and stain it
- Now take 1 tsp oil in the pan and heat it
- Add 1/3 tsp asafetida and tamarind purry prepared as above.
- Cook on high flame till it starts boiling
- Add jaggery, mix it and cook for 5 mins on medium flame
- Add sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black salt, 1 tsp fry cumin powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Mix it and cook for 2 mins on medium flame
- Once tamarind chutney is thick, turn off the flame
- Let it col down.
- It's ready. Enjoy
