Tamarind Chutney, Imli Ki Chatani


 (Note : tsp stands for table spoon)

Ingredients

  • Tamarind\Imli-50 gms,
  • Sugar-25 gms,
  • Jaggery-50 gms,
  • Oil-1 tsp,
  • Fry Cumin Powder-1tsp,
  • Red Chilli Powder-1 tsp,
  • Black salt-1/2 tsp,
  • Salt-1/2 tsp,
  • Asafetida\Heeng-1/3 tsp 

Method

  • Take tamarind in a pan and add half of glass hot water
  • Let it soak for 15 mins after that boil on high flame
  • Once it starts boiling, turn the flame low
  • Now cook for 5 mins on medium flame then turn off the flame
  • Leave it for 10 mins to cool down
  • Put it mixer jar, grind it and stain it
  • Now take 1 tsp oil in the pan and heat it
  • Add 1/3 tsp asafetida and tamarind purry prepared as above.
  • Cook on high flame till it starts boiling
  • Add jaggery, mix it and cook for 5 mins on medium flame
  • Add sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black salt, 1 tsp fry cumin powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Mix it and cook for 2 mins on medium flame
  • Once tamarind chutney is thick, turn off the flame
  • Let it col down. 
  • It's ready. Enjoy
