Moong Dal Halwa

 


(Note : tbs stands for table spoon)

Ingredients

  • Moong Dal-1 cup (200 gms),
  • Sugar-1 cup (200 gms),
  • Ghee-1/2 cup (125 gms),
  • Milk-500 ml,
  • Almonds-15 to 20,
  • Raisins-20 to 25,
  •  Cashews-15 to 20,
  • Cardamom Powder-1 tbs

Method

  • Wipe moong dal with cloth to clean it
  • Pour the dal in pan
  • Roast it on medium flame
  • Once colour is changed, and smell is coming out it, turn off the flame
  • Take out it in a plate and let it cool down
  • Now put it in a jar, and grind it
  • Now take some ghee in a pan and heat it
  • Add dry fruits, fry it and take it out. 
  • Add some more ghee in pan, pour moong dal in ghee and roast for 5 mins on medium flame
  • Add milk and mix it, stir it 
  • Add 1/2 glass water and mix it
  • Stir it and cook for 10 to 15 mins on medium flame
  • Add sugar and cook for 5 mins on medium flame
  • Add some ghee and stir it
  • Add dry fruits and cook for 5 mins on medium flame
  • Add ghee and cook for 5 mins on medium flame
  • Add cardamom powder and mix it and cook for 5 mins
  • Turn off the flame
  • It's ready. enjoy
