Aloo Methi

 


Ingredients

  • Potato-4,
  • Tomato-1,
  • Onion-2,
  • Fenugreek Leaves- 150 gm
  • Turmeric-1 tbsp, Salt,
  • Cumin Seeds-1 tbsp,
  • Mustard Oil (Cooking Oil)-2 tbsp

 Method

  • Put oil in the pan and heat it
  • Add cumin seeds
  • Add onion and mix it and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame till the color of onion turns golden
  • Add potato and 1 tbsp turmeric powder, salt and mix it. 
  • Cover it and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame
  • When potatoes are cooked a little bit, add fenugreek leaves
  • Mix it and cook for 1 minutes
  • When fenugreek leaves have softened slightly, add tomato and mix it
  • Cover it and cook for 5 minutes on low flame
  • If you want, you can skip tomatoes here, however adding tomatoes reduces the bitterness of fenugreek, so we're putting tomatoes in it
  • When potatoes are cooked, turn of the flame
  • And take it out in a plate and enjoy
